OnRadio/ElectricVillage started as a website developer for radio
stations and grew to a sizable corporation, syndicating content
and services to over 500 radio stations and employing around 100
people.
Al Luckow was involved as one of the original six founding employees.
He went on to develop and staff the creative department. He personally
designed or directed the development of six music format sites;
Alternative, Classic Rock, Country, Urban, Oldies, Adult Contemporary.
These sites were the stand-alone home base of content that was
syndicated out to radio station websites.
Alan also developed a system known as "VillageNet".
VIllageNet allowed a relatively small number of production artists
to maintain a sizable number of radio station websites (about
500). It involved teaching design techniques to the staff and
providing specs for consistent website application. These sites
accessed data from the format sites and provided fresh, format-specific
content to radio station websites that were part of the VillgeNet
Network.
